After he read “Hunger” by Knut Hamsun, he knew his calling as a writer. His obsession for music and DJing began by making mix tapes for girls he liked when he was a Jehovah’s Witness teenager.

He’s the author of “Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk” (Soft Skull Press) and has written about 500 articles for The San Francisco Chronicle as well as other publications like Penthouse, Mother Jones, LA Weekly, The Rumpus and other media outlets.
